FCHHA Honored by VT Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports 

The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports presented its 13th annual awards
ceremony on May 17, 2007in Montpelier to honor Vermont citizens, organizations and worksites that promote fitness and health.

We are proud to announce that Franklin County Home Health Agency received a Silver Award from Governor Jim Douglas and the VT Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

The awards ceremony featured 42 employers and six individuals.  The Work Site Wellness awards honor employers that support activities to prevent disease and promote physical activity and good health on and off the job.

The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports is a physical activity promotion and advocacy group, comprised of volunteers appointed by the Governor to represent a broad spectrum of Vermonters.  The Council’s mission is to promote wellness through physical activity for people of all fitness and ability levels.  

For 13 years, the Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports has presented the awards on National Employee Health and Fitness Day in May.  This was the first time the director of the President’s Council participated in the Vermont event. 

Other Agencies from Franklin County receiving awards included Northwestern Medical Center,
Northern Tier Center for Health, and RockTenn.
