, After a rigorous three day close inspection by four nurses from the Vermont Department of Licensing and Protection, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Inc. (FCHHA) was not only found in full compliance of all regulations, the Agency was also passed with no deficiencies, which speaks to the outstanding service Home Health provides to Franklin County. “I am very happy to report that the surveyors found us to be in full compliance in all standards,” said executive director Janet McCarthy. “The survey process was very thorough and comprehensive. Our day to day processes and teamwork supported this successful outcome, which is the result of all of the work which has taken place throughout the year. I thank all our staff for their efforts to provide quality care to the patients we serve.” The surveyors reviewed patient and personnel files and observed staff during home visits. The purpose of the survey was to determine the Agency’s compliance with the Home Care Medicare Conditions of Participation, Choices for Care and the Vermont Home Care standards as well as to assess the quality of care provided to patients. In addition, they conducted three complaint surveys on an Agency self report. FCHHA is one of eleven non-profit organizations that provide high-quality care to Vermonters of all ages and incomes, and is one the few that has received such a high rating. For over forty years, the Agency has provided home care and hospice care that help people live independently and retain their dignity in the comfort of their home. FCHHA also provides childbirth education courses, skilled pediatric nursing and support for new mothers.
