Our First Steps Childbirth education consists of consists of a six-week series of evening classes or a one-day course.  Additional services and offerings are also available through First Steps.

The 6-week classes are held from 7:00 p.m.
- 9:00 p.m. at Franklin County Home Health Agency in St. Albans.

There is a $90 charge for the 6-week course.

An optional class in the seventh week
for those who want more education about breastfeeding is also available at an additional charge.

The one-day course, Birth and Beyond,
also offered to meet the needs of couples
who cannot attend the 6-week course.  There is a $75 charge for the one-day course.

Some insurance carriers cover the cost of these classes. Please contact your insurer to find out if your class will be covered under your specific plan.

One-day seminars, "Birth and Beyond" are held on Saturdays,
8:30 am - 4:30 pm at our office in St. Albans.
 

Birth and Beyond covers labor, birth, breathing and relaxation techniques, highlights of the postpartum period and what to expect from the newborn.  There is a $75 charge for the "Birth & Beyond" class.

Additional Services and Offerings: 

Refresher Childbirth Class1 night for 2 hours
Great for
parents who need to review physical and emotional
aspects of childbirth, relaxation and breathing techniques
.

Breastfeeding Class
1 night for 2 hours
Provides
introduction to the breastfeeding process as well
as providing access to resources and support for successful
breastfeeding.  Follow-up counseling is available.

Home Visits for clients of the Healthy Babies, Kids and Families
program
