Franklin County Home Health Agency is proud to
announce that Carol Cohen,
Medical Social Worker, was recently named, Field
Supervisor of the Year
by the University of Vermont’s School of Social
Work.
Carol
attributed the achievement to her love of the job. “I enjoy doing it and
I
think my enthusiasm reaches the students,” said Carol, who has been working
with
Medical Social Work students for many years at Home Health. This year, Carol is
mentoring student intern, Amy Kravitz. In response to the honor Carol
received
she added, “The morale at Home Health is great and makes the student’s
experience a positive one.”
Medical Social Workers help people of all ages and their families manage
emotional,
social and financial concerns associated with patient care. They can
help physicians and other healthcare team members
to understand these factors
and how they relate to a person's health condition.
Medical Social Workers also help coordinate
community services and resources,
and counsel patients and family members on
coping with the stress of illness.
