6th annual
Freedom Ride for Hospice, Sunday, July 15, 2007
Our hearts are filled with
gratitude for the support we received for our 6th annual Freedom Ride
for Hospice from corporate sponsorships, donations in kind, volunteers, and
rider participation and enthusiasm. On July 15, despite a rainy morning,
25 motorcycles joined the Freedom Ride, many riding in memory or honor of loved
ones. Over $4000 was raised, with proceeds to support the Hospice Program
of Franklin County Home Health Agency.
The sun came out strong the moment the riders
left the park and shined on us all day. The ride started at the St. Albans
Bay Town Park and continued through Swanton, Highgate, Franklin, West Berkshire,
Berkshire, Enosburg, Sheldon and St. Albans before returning to the park.
The closing ceremony included music by Big Boots Deville, barbeque, memorial
name-reading, 50/50 drawing and prizes.
Thank you to our event sponsors, “turbocharger”
sponsor, Lyndon Bank, and “shock absorber” sponsors, the Vermont Center for
Cancer Medicine and OptionCare.
The Agency would also like to recognize other
contributors to the event including Big Boots Deville, LG Printing, Monarch
Medical, The County Courier, Hannaford Supermarket in Enosburg, The Abbey
Restaurant, Desorcie’s Market, The Bayside Pavilion, Creed Ice, Northwestern
Medical Center, Shaggy’s Snack Bar, Pie in the Sky,
The Parts Store, Inc., Senesac Yamaha, Inc., Nana’s Restaurant, Swanton House of
Pizza, Total Home Center, Regal Arts Press & Flags, Etc., Swanton Beverage,
Jeff’s Maine Seafood.
The ride wouldn’t be
possible with out the support of family members, hospice volunteers, staff,
board members and friends. Thank you to Paula Langlais, Charlotte Adams,

and for those of you who joined the ride for the first time, “Thank You!”
You can take pride knowing that your support makes a meaningful difference in
the lives of so many people and families in Franklin County.
